About Me

I have two young children and enjoy yoga, music, kick boxing and like nothing more than catching up with my friends.  I work as a therapist/counsellor and as an assistant psychologist within the areas of Manchester and Cheshire.

As a therapist/counsellor I have a private practice in Wilmslow and these photo’s are of the room I use.

I myself have experienced many of the emotional challenges impacting the people I now work with.  I had a miscarriage when I was pregnant with my first child, and my youngest son was stillborn.  Therapy provided the space I needed.  I now carry a strong belief that providing a confidential, warm, and compassionate space for people to explore their thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and relationships can be invaluable.

I take an integrative approach that centres around Transactional Analysis. I specialise in working with people living with the impact of anxiety, loss and bereavement, miscarriage and stillbirth, and childhood trauma.  I am also interested in mindfulness, and developing emotional resilience (understanding and accepting all of our emotions).  Take a look at these video clips to help put some of this into context.

The approach I will bring to your therapy could be what you need right now.  Take a look at the other pages on this website and get in touch to explore more.

As an assistant psychologist I work within both the educational and clinical settings.  I have experience working with adults, adolescents and children.  This has been within the NHS, a social enterprise, as well as primary and secondary schools across Manchester, Merseyside & parts of Cheshire.  I am able to carry out and interpret a number of different assessments.  I also identify and implement potential solutions and interventions.

I have developed a working knowledge of human development; social, emotional and behaviour issues; the importance of relationships; attachment; communication needs and positive psychology. I have also developed practical expertise around assessments, solution finding and therapeutic interventions.

As a member of the UK Association of Transactional Analysis (UKATA) and the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP), I abide by their code of ethics and professional practice. As such, I attend regular supervision which further enhances the safety and effectiveness of my practice. I hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
